Obituary for Charles "Ronnie" Ronald Allen
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday July 11, 2022 for Charles Ronald Allen Sr. “Ronnie” at 2pm at St. Joseph Abbey 75376 River Rd, St. Benedict, LA 70457. Visitation will take place at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Monday July 11, 2022 from 11:30-1:30pm. Interment will follow the Mass at St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery, St. Benedict, La. His brother Father David Allen will be the celebrant of his mass.

Ronnie was a native of Baton Rouge, LA and a resident of Folsom, LA. He lived on his beautiful property with his beloved wife, Debbie Griffin Allen of 45 years. He passed away peacefully on July 5, 2022.

He is survived by his wife Debbie, his sons Charles Ronald Allen Jr. “Ron” (Lauren), David (Meghan) and Michael (Gina) and his greatest joys, his 8 grandchildren, Charlie, Pierce, Welles, Thomas, Adele, Grayson, Griffin and Graham. Also survived by his loving siblings, Tommy, Dennis “Speedy”, Fred, David Allen, Madlyn Hicks and a handful of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Patricia Allen.

Ronnie was a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University earning his bachelor’s degree in Zoology. In his early career, he traveled the country working pipelines, eventually becoming a field engineer. He also spent several years as a high school teacher in Alexandria, LA.

In 1976, Ronnie founded Aquarius Pools and Spas. Over the next 46 years he built over 2000 pool in South Louisiana. Most recently, Aquarius was named the Best Custom Pool Design Company on the Northshore. He always accepted new challenges and there was never a job too small or big for him to take on. He took great pride in his work and was well respected nationwide for the quality pools he constructed.

During his time off, you could find him on a beach with a margarita in hand and Bob Dylan on his radio. He always looked forward to his annual beach trips with his family and grandchildren. The first meal on vacation was always his famous jambalaya. If you know, you know!

A true outdoorsman, Ronnie enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time on his farm with his wife and animals. He always cherished his times in a duck blind, deer stand and fishing around his pond catching largemouth bass.

Ronnie lived life to the fullest and never met a stranger. Down to his last days, he made an impression on the lives of everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him. His family was his number one priority as well as the many friends that he considered family.

We will always remember his infectious smiles, laughter and unforgettable life lessons. His presence will always be with us. God Bless America!
