Obituary

Esther DiMarco, a loving mother, grandmother, and adoring wife passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022, at the age of 68 following a lengthy illness. Esther was born on November 13, 1953, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to parents Anthony and Augusta Piazza. She married Ciro “C.J.” DiMarco on August 17, 1991.

Esther had recently retired from Money Management Inc. as a credit counselor and enjoyed traveling with “C.J.” before her illness. She was a member of the Northshore Corvette Club, Greater New Orleans Corvette Club, Past Treasurer of the Sons and Daughters of Italy, and member of the St. Genevieve Choir for 30 years. She was the most loving, kind, giving, and compassionate mother, grandmother, wife, and sister and cared deeply for her family and others. Esther loved to play with her grandchildren and showed respect and care for everyone she met. She loved Jesus, listening to Christian music, dancing, going to the gym, and her pink corvette. She was always so positive, always had a smile, and would light up any room that she entered. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

Esther is survived by her husband, Ciro “C.J.” DiMarco; her daughters, Cheri (Steve) Prachniak and Eugenie (Carl) Babin; her sons, Brett (Evelyn) DiMarco and Sam (Danielle) DiMarco; her grandchildren, Katie, Cameron, Drew, Ellie, Baby Blakely on the way, and Brent; and her sister, Nancy Vegas.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Augusta Piazza; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Emily and Lucien DiMarco; and her brother, John “Buddy” Fourtunia.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Genevieve Church in Slidell. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery following services. Esther loved all things pink, so all attendees are encouraged to wear something pink in her honor.
