mily Taormina Becknell, February 23, 1952 - November 15, 2021. Emily Taormina Becknell passed away peacefully on Monday, November 15, 2021 following a lengthy and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was the beloved wife of 44 years of Bill Becknell and the loving mother of Allison Becknell Konrad (Rob), Lindsey Becknell Capdepon (Nathaniel), and John Becknell (Ashley). She was a wonderful Mimi to her grandchildren James Konrad, Henry Konrad, Lucy Capdepon, Olivia Capdepon, Ella Becknell, and Harper Emily Becknell. Emily was the daughter of Althea Taormina and the late Frank Taormina, and she was the sister of Roy Taormina, Gina Taormina Snyder, Terri Taormina Davis, and Joann Taormina West. Emily is also survived by her many loving sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She attended Archbishop Chapelle High School and the University of New Orleans. Emily's sweet and gentle demeanor touched all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home located at 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Friday, November 19, 2021 from 10:00 am - noon, immediately followed by a memorial Mass. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Abbey in Covington. The family would like to extend its sincerest gratitude to her physician, Genevive Maronge, M.D., for her professional and compassionate care during Emily's two-year battle with cancer.
