Obituary

David Allen Skevington, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on August 7, 2023 at the age of 79. He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on April 17, 1944 to his loving parents, the late John Arthur Skevington and Geraldine Magdalene Skevington. David is the beloved husband of 51 years to Deborah Sheridan Skevington; cherished father of Kathryn Anticich (Troy Anticich) and Jennifer Skevington; proud grandfather of Nadia Anticich and Luke Anticich; and adored brother of John Arthur Skevington Jr. and Janice Liberman. He also leaves behind a host of extended family members and friends, all of whom he loved greatly.

David earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Indiana and a Master of Arts in Public Policy from Tulane University in New Orleans. He retired from the New Orleans Police Department after many years of dedicated service. David was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and Alpha Tau Omega. He was a parishioner of St. Luke the Evangelist Church in Slidell. In his spare time, David enjoyed gardening and carpentry but treasured nothing more than the time he spent with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Audubon Funeral Home in Slidell. A Funeral Mass will begin in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. David will be laid to rest in Saint Joseph Abbey Cemetery.
