Edgar “Ed” Joseph Daigle, a resident of Dickson Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at the young age of 74. He was born January 28, 1948, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana to the late Elphege A Daigle and the late Shirley Bergeron Daigle. He was a graduate of St. Joseph Elementary and Ponchatoula High School.

In his teens and 20s, Edgar’s passion was music. He learned music by ear and bought hundreds of records to practice songs. He was lead singer and keyboard player for several different bands (Truckin’, The Cavaliers, Cracker Jack, Dynamic 4). His love for music continued throughout his life as a guitar, piano, and organ player. He was a choir member at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ponchatoula. He sang and played the guitar and piano at church and at gatherings for friends and family.

Ed was recognized as a leader among his peers as they bestowed upon him the office of Grand Knight of the Hammond, Louisiana John F. Kennedy Council 2952 Knights of Columbus for the 1987–1988 year. He was well loved by his friends and community and enjoyed participating in community events.

Edgar also expressed himself through writing and visual arts. In particular, he excelled at woodworking. For decades, he enjoyed a career as a highly skilled patternmaker, creating wood designs for iron molds. In addition, he was a wood hobbyist and created various items like bowls, musical instruments, knives, writing pens, and furniture. He used his talent to create treasures for friends and family. His work was beautiful. He was a true artist, and he leaves his memory in all the things he created and built.

Ed really wanted to experience everything life could throw at him and enjoy time with family and friends. He and Kay loved to travel. Together, they had many adventures, including cruise trips to exciting places like Alaska and the Caribbean. He and Kay also loved camping and boating, and they made many trips with their camper. They would meet up with great friends and just celebrate life, drinking wine and eating good food along the way.In early January 2022, Ed finally retired from East Jordan Iron Works in Ardmore, OK.

Edgar is survived by his wife (of 31 years) Kay Gordon Daigle, his 4 children, Erica Daigle (Rob), Sean Daigle, Randy Barca (Natalie), and Matt Daigle, and three grandchildren, Carly Turner, Laney Barca, and Henry Barca.
