Obituary

Wayne Raymond Desdier passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. He was born on August 23, 1942, in New Orleans, LA to the late Walter Vincent Desdier, Sr. and Katherine Eubanks Desdier. Wayne was the beloved husband of Marilyn Smith Desdier of 49 years. He was the caring brother of Walter V. Desdier, Jr., brother-in-law of Cheryl Smith Spring. Wayne was the proud uncle of Randy H. Spring, Johnathan C. Spring, Austin J. Spring, James S. Spring (Richelle), Tyler J. Spring, and Olivia Spring. Wayne attended Cathedral Grammar School in the French Quarter. He went on to graduate from St. Aloysius High School. Wayne earned his Bachelor's Degree in accounting from Loyola University in 1972. During his college career, he served his country in the Army Reserves and earned an honorable discharge also in 1972. Wayne began his accounting career at Kohlmeyer and went on to work for Shell Oil, Gillis, Ellis, and Baker Insurance Agency, and De La Salle High School. He retired after 19 years as the accountant at Archbishop Rummel High School, New Orleans, LA. Relatives and friends are invited to the Memorial Mass at St. Peter Catholic Church, 312 E. 19th St., Covington, LA 70433 on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 11:00 am with visitation from 9:30 am until Mass time.
