Bernard A. (B.B.) Buras died peacefully Thursday, July 15, in the presence of his family. Son of the late Bernard Buras and Jane Olga Cos Buras. The loving husband of Patrice (Patti) Blaize Buras of 46 years. Beloved father of Tiffany Baggott (Joseph) and Brett Buras (Stacy). Also survived and missed by four grandsons, Kaleb Sumera, Easton and Liam Baggott and Brooks Buras who affectionately knew him as "Pop" as well as a host of nieces and nephews. B.B. is also survived by his dear sister Jeannine Dufrene (Otis) with whom he had a special bond. A graduate of Buras High School and University of Lafayette Louisiana, B.B. dedicated his 43 year career to the oil field industry. He began in 1974 with National Supply and retired with DNOW in 2017. He was a strong advocate of the NRA and coastal restoration efforts. An avid outdoorsman, fisherman, and hunter, B.B.’s favorite passion was his love for family and spending time with them. The family will receive visitors at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 312 Lafitte St. Mandeville, LA. from 10:30 am until 12:00 noon on Friday, July 23, 2021. A funeral mass will follow at noon. Private Interment at St. Joseph Abbey, St. Benedict, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in B.B.’s memory to Basket of Hope Louisiana, P.O.
