Obituary

Patricia Partlan Burgard passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at the age of 79. Patricia was a native of New Orleans, LA and a current resident of Madisonville, LA.

She is survived by her beloved husband and best friend of 60 years, Edward Emile Burgard, Jr. Patricia will be deeply missed by her children and their spouses — Melanie Iverson (Michael), Wendy Maitre (Mickey), and Edward Burgard, III (Kelli). Mimi’s pride and joy, her grandchildren, include Jenna Maitre, Mandy Iverson, Eddie Burgard, IV, Mickey Maitre, Jr., Brooke Burgard, and Matthew Iverson. She is survived by her sister Yvonne Spicuzza and sister-in-law Blanche Partlan.

Patricia was preceded in death by her mother Marguerite Rittler Partlan, her father Daniel Bernard Partlan, Sr., her brother Daniel Partlan, Jr. and her sisters — Elaine Smith, Jacqueline Turner, and Carol Scheuermann.

She was a long-time employee of the St. Bernard Parish Clerk of Court’s Office. Patricia loved to cook, going to the beach, LSU tailgates, and most of all spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Somer Gagnard, her great niece, for being an extraordinary caregiver during the last few weeks of her life. Special thanks to St. Tammany Parish Hospital, St. Tammany/Ochsner Cancer Center and St. Tammany Parish Hospice for the compassionate and excellent care.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation at St. Anselm Catholic Church in Madisonville, LA on Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM with a funeral mass following at 12:00 PM.

A private burial will be held at St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery at a later date.
