Claire Rosher Jung, beloved wife of the late William Jacob Jung, Sr., passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014 at the age of 89. Born in New Orleans on July 21, 1924, Claire was the daughter of the late Joseph H. Rosher, Sr. and Gertrude Litolff Rosher Salisbury. Sister of Joseph H. Rosher, Jr. (deceased) and Elizabeth Salisbury Parham. Beloved mother of Alice Madron (late Ronald), Jill Lambert (David), Diane Bird (Charles), Michael Jung (DeLane), William J. Jung, Jr. (Linda), Catherine Jones (Frank), Claire Lessard (Edwin). Loving grandmother of Ronald Madron, Jr, Scott Madron, Stacy Collura, Stephanie Collura, Amy Hamby, Ben Sossaman, Gene Bird, Lori Hansen, Elizabeth Capadepon, Julia Colvins, Victoria Jones, Alexandra Jung, Stephen Jung, William J. Jung III, Kevin Jones, Joshua Jones, Sarah Jones, Christopher Lessard, Daniel Lessard and 21 great-grandchildren. Mom touched the lives of so many with her love and kindness. She lived her faith, volunteered unselfishly while a resident of Nazareth Inn and received an award from Catholic Charities for her good work. Playing Scrabble with her grandchildren was one of her favorite things to do. She loved to crochet, work crossword puzzles in purple ink, and read about the West, especially about Native Americans. Her life was devoted to her children and grandchildren whom she loved dearly. The family wishes to thank the staff of Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Slidell, LA, for their loving care of our mother. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Mass in the Chapel of Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St.; on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 6:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 4:00 pm until service time. In lieu of flowers, Masses or donations to a charity of your choice are preferred.
