Obituary

William (Billy) Henry Funck Jr. peacefully passed away on December 18, 2017, at the age of 76 in his home. He was born in New Orleans, La., to the late William and Elsie Funck on January 28, 1941. Brother of the late Robert R Funck. Billy lived in River Ridge for 35 years and moved to Slidell, La., in 2004. He was married to his beloved wife, Susan D'Aunoy Funck for 53 wonderful years and was a loving father to Julie Funck Bertucci (David), Craig William Funck (Leisa) and Scott Anthony Funck (Kristy). Proud grandfather of Brandon, Alexandria, Dylan, Olivia and Brody. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, children, grandchildren, and many wonderful relatives and friends. He was in the Air National Guard Reserve. He belonged to the Carpenters Local Union and worked for many years as a carpenter and construction superintendent for South Bend Construction and Brooks Builders. He loved spending time with his family, especially at his camp-fishing, trawling and riding on the lake. He could fix anything. He loved teaching his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending weekday mornings with his friends at his favorite breakfast hangout. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 400 Westchester Blvd, Slidell, La. Visitation will be held at noon followed by a Mass at 12:30pm, Wednesday, December 27, 2017. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
