PHILIP MEYER OBITUARY
Philip Thomas Meyer, age 81, born February 24, 1941 went to his heavenly home on August 12, 2022. He was a native of New Orleans, LA. and a longtime resident of St. Bernard until Hurricane Katrina. He then resided in Hammond, LA. Philip was a graduate of Holy Cross High School and served his country in the United States Marine Corps Reserves for 6 years after graduation. He later worked for Laitram Corporation and finally Murphy Oil where he retired in 2002. His stories of travelling with Laitram and working with the guys from Murphy were ones he loved to share with everyone.
Philip is survived by his wife of 50 years, Cecilia Moon Meyer, son; Todd Thomas Gross(Elise) daughters; Nicole Meyer Goodyear (Richard) and April Ann Meyer, 10 grandchildren, brother; Harold Meyer (Ruth), Brother-in-Law; Clifton Moon (Kim) and many nieces and nephews.
Philip is preceded in death by his parents Frank Meyer, Sr. and Elmire Walker Meyer, Sisters; Patsy Meyer, Ethel Meyer Springler (Julian) and Brother; Frank Meyer, Jr (Wilhelmette).
Relatives and Friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation and Memorial Service at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church located at 501 Most Holy Trinity Drive Covington, Louisiana. 70433
Visitation begins at 10:00am with Mass beginning at 11:30am. Interment is to follow at St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery in Covington, LA.
