Obituary for Marvin C.M. Thorne
Marvin C. M. Thorne age 74, of Covington passed away at his residence Saturday morning, December 12, 2020. He was born on July 26, 1946 in Versailles, France to Marvin Earl Thorne and Regine Voisin Thorne.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Glenda Caspar Thorne, his children, M. Doug Thorne (Nancy), and Jonathan Thorne (Rebecca), and his loving grandchildren Logan, Kristin, Garrett, and Olivia Thorne. He is also survived by his brothers, Joseph Hierling, Thomas Thorne, and Richard Thorne, and his sister, Monique Careddu, and a host of many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Marvin Thorne and Regine Thorne, and his brother Roland Thorne.

Marvin had a successful and enjoyable career as a Food Manufacturing Representative for 35 years.

A native of France and a lifelong resident of Covington for the past 41 years, he was a devoted parishioner of St. Peter Catholic Church, and proudly served as Co-coordinator of the Family Life Ministry and a member of the Parish Council. He assisted in Mass as a Eucharist Minister and worked with the Parish School of Religion for several years. Marvin was a member of Knights of Columbus in New Orleans Marquette Council. His true passion was spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass at St. Peter Catholic Church, 125 East 19th Avenue, Covington, Louisiana 70433 on Monday, December 21, 2020 at 12:00 PM with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. A public visitation will be held at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Ave, Covington, LA 70433 on Sunday, December 20, 2020 beginning at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment is private for Marvin.
With COVID-19, restrictions social distancing and face masks are required to attend services.
