ebecca "Beckie" Sue McIlwain, age 66 of Marrero, LA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning, December 11, 2021. She was born in Columbia, LA on June 5, 1955 to Burnis Odell McIlwain and Glenda Davidson McIlwain. She is survived by her mother, Glenda Davidson McIlwain and her loving daughters, Brina Pierce-Skates (Jesse Skates) and Alissa Pierce-Serpas (James Serpas). She was the proud grandmother of Wren, Tillie, Beck and Layla. Beckie was the sibling of Brenda McIlwain and Allen McIlwain. She is also survived by a host of family that will miss her dearly. Beckie is preceded in death by her father Burnis Odell McIlwain. Beckie was a native of Columbia, LA, and later a resident of Chalmette, LA and Marrero, LA. She graduated from L.W. Higgins High School. After high school, Beckie dedicated her life to raising her two daughters and later went on to graduate college where she received her associate degree. After graduating college she began her professional career as a Paralegal. She retired in 2017, to cherish spending time with her adoring grandchildren. Beckie was kind, humble, and most of all, a caring person. She accepted everyone and did not judge others. Her true passion was spending time with her loving family. Beckie was unique, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
