Obituary for Elaine Douglas Brown
Elaine Douglas Brown of New Orleans passed away peacefully on Monday, July 12th, 2021. She was born on August 24th, 1934 to Francis Herbert and Mary Donovan Douglas and she joins her beloved husband of 39 years, Donald Anthony Brown, in eternal rest.
Elaine is survived by her three grandchildren whom she raised; Charlene Alexis Sourita Bercegay (Avery), Brian Matthew Sourita (Stacy), and Daniel Robert Sourita (Irene) and her stepsons Donald Douglas Brown (Victoria) and Gregory Campbell Brown; She is also survived by the many wonderful, lifelong friends she has made throughout her journey through life.
Elaine graduated from Ursuline Academy and studied at Newcomb College. She was employed for 30 years with Delta Airlines, and worked as a successful real estate investor for most of her life. She was born and raised in Uptown New Orleans; she spent much of her life living in Metairie and her golden years in Mandeville. She was a member of Mary Queen of Peace, Delta Pioneers, Northlake Newcomers Club, Republican Women’s Club, and Beau Chene Garden Club.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1501 W Causeway Approach, Mandeville, LA 70471 on Friday, July 16th, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. with visitation at the church on Friday beginning at 10:00 AM.
