Obituary

Phyllis Maxey Autin entered eternal rest on January 6, 2022 in Baton Rouge, LA at the age of 74. She was a native of New Orleans and graduated from Francis T. Nicholls High School. She lived most of her adult life in Mandeville. She is survived by her sister, Linda Ferguson (Audie); her daughters Beth Autin (Chris Catterton) of San Diego, CA; Alison Neisler (Michael) of Prairieville, LA; Melanie Autin of Bowling Green, KY; and her son Matthew Autin (Roxanne) of Baton Rouge, LA. She was the beloved Grammy to Henry and Sara Neisler, who she moved to Prairieville to be near. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Albert P. Autin, Jr. She always enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and making them laugh. She loved the time she spent and the people she met working at Tuesday Morning and Barnes & Noble. Like all native New Orleanians, she enthusiastically appreciated the bounty of our local waters and gardens. Her loved ones will forever miss her New Orleans accent, terrible singing, April Fool's jokes, and creative use of technology. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a local animal shelter, humane society, or animal rescue in her memory. Arrangements by Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales, La.
