Obituary
Arthur Paul Braiwick passed away peacefully Thursday, October 8, 2020, at his home in Mandeville, LA at the age of 67. He was born April 9, 1953, in New Orleans, LA where he attended Brother Martin High School.

He served as the beloved partner of Janet Jackson and loving father to Arthur Braiwick, Jr. of New Orleans; Denise Dorr and her husband Kevin of Mandeville; Daniel Braiwick and his wife Mandi of Robert; Michelle Braiwick and her partner Jeffery Carlson of Mandeville; Amy Green and her husband Drew of Covington; and Kyle Bone and his partner Cayla Sykes of Mandeville. Arthur was also the beloved "Pop Pop" of seven grandchildren: Andrew and Abby Dorr; David Paul Pitfield III; Joseph and Jack Braiwick; and Lyla and Jackson Green. He was the son of the late Robert M. Braiwick Sr. and Shirley Braiwick of New Orleans. He is survived by his siblings Melanie Saunders and her husband Larry of Mandeville; Robert M. Braiwick, Jr., and his wife Cindy of Metairie; and Theresa (Tery) Scalco and her husband Steven of Metairie. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Christian Braiwick. He will also be remembered by many loved nieces and nephews.

Arthur was a devoted father, life partner, and friend. He worked hard as a mechanic for over 40 years. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. Arthur and Janet would visit North Carolina frequently to visit their family cabin in the mountains. He also enjoyed fishing and being on the water. Coaching both sons in soccer and baseball and being a "stage dad" at dance recitals will always be a great memory. He was a devout parishioner of Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Arthur will be fiercely missed by many.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Noon on Friday, October 16, 2020, at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1501 W. Causeway Approach, Mandeville, LA. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Interment to follow at Saint Joseph Abbey Cemetery. The family is asking in lieu of flowers that either donations be sent to Saint Joseph Abbey and Seminary College, 75376 River Road, Saint Benedict, LA 70457 or masses offered in his memory.
