John Henry Haslauer, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on February 14, 2023, at the age of 82. He was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, born on November 11, 1940, to his loving parents, the late Santa Romano Haslauer and John Jules Haslauer. John is the beloved husband of 45 years to Salva Beryl Failla Haslauer; cherished father of Daniel Haslauer (Melissa), Matthew Haslauer, Timothy Haslauer (Lauren), Jeffrey Haslauer (Jamie Agrelius), Melinda Kernahan (Michael), and Suzanne Runnels (Ryan); treasured grandfather of Anabel, West, Cerrin, Jeffrey, Josephine, Addison, Audrey, Jacob, and Cecilia; and caring brother of Santa Ann Lampe. He also leaves behind a host of extended family members and friends whom he loved dearly.

John earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from LSUNO and was a CPA. A lifelong civil servant, John started his professional career as a criminal investigator with the IRS. He then transferred to the National Finance Center at the Department of Agriculture, where he served as one of the original developers of the Thrift Savings Plan, retiring as chief of management staff for the division. John was a devout Catholic and an active parishioner of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church. He was a member of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association, the Society of Louisiana CPAs, and the Association of Government Accountants. John was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing tennis and woodworking. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Private services were held at St. Joseph Abbey Catholic Church. John was laid to rest in St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery in Saint Benedict, Louisiana. Memories and condolences may be expressed at www.AudubonFuneralHome.com
