Obituary

Vicki Lynn Ivy Hesson passed away on February 11, 2021, surrounded by family at her home in Covington, LA. She was born on November 29, 1951, in Lake Village, AR to the late William Andrew Ivy and Mary Coryell Ivy Nuckols (Walter). Vicki was the beloved wife of Robert Wilton Hesson, Jr., for 44 years. She was the loving mother of Robert Andrew Hesson (Lisa), Darrick William Hesson (Alicia), Amanda Hesson Reyes, and Brooke Hesson Bacharach (Paul). Vicki was the proud grandmother of Layna, Armani, Reyn, Hadley, Alijah, Harper, and Camryn; and great grandmother of Kourtlyn. She was the sister of Dr. William Ivy (Eileen) and Aunt to Andrew Ivy and Katherine Patz. Vicki graduated from McGehee High School in McGehee, AR and received her Masters in Education from Arkansas State University. She met her husband Robert when they were both teaching Special Education along the Mississippi Gulf Coast and eventually settled down in Covington, LA where they raised their four kids. Vicki continued her work as an educator with the St. Tammany Parish School Board and eventually retired as the Guidance Counselor at Madisonville Jr. High School. Vicki loved being involved in all of her kids' extracurricular activities throughout the years and most recently, loved being a grandmother. Vicki loved spending time with her grandkids and was affectionately known as "Memom". She had a very special relationship with all of her children and grandchildren, never missing a special event. Vicki embodied all the qualities of a wonderful loving wife, mother and friend. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, February 18, 2021, at 2:00 pm at St. Anselm Catholic Church in Madisonville, LA.
