Obituary

Rudolph “Rudy” J. Bosch Jr, 87, of Abita Springs, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025 at St Tammy Parrish Hospital. He was born on April 6, 1938 in New Orleans to the late Rudolph “Rudy” J. Bosch Sr. & Mildred Chauff Bosch.

Rudy was born and raised in New Orleans and lived in the St Roch Neighborhood, and attended Our Lady of The Star of the Sea Catholic School. He then graduated in 1956 from St. Aloysisus High School in New Orleans. After High School he attended Tulane University and later joined the Louisiana Air National Guard. During his time in the National Guard, Rudy attended and graduated from Delgado Community College. Rudy then started working for the Bailey Meter Company. Later Rudy went on to open his own business which he owned and operate for several years.

Rudy met Joycelyn in 1965 and they were later married on August 6th, 1966 at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Algiers. Rudy was a member of St. Jane de Chantal Catholic Church in Abita Springs. He was also a 3rd Order Benedictine at St. Joseph Abbey, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 12529 at St. Jane de Chantal Catholic Church.

Rudy loved working on his electronic equipment in his office at his home in Abita Springs. He loved listening to all kinds of music on his stereo system, while tinkering with projects in his office. If you knew Rudy, you knew that his sense of humor was intriguing, but was always genuine. Rudy was a loving and devoted, husband, father, grandfather, and friend to so many, and his legacy lives on in all of us.

Rudy is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joycelyn Bosch; sons, Brian (Wilma) Bosch, and David (Stacey) Bosch; and grandson, Rory Bosch. Rudy also leaves behind to cherish his memory a host of friends.

Visitation will be from 9:30 am until 10:30 am on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at St. Jane de Chantal Catholic Church (72040 Maple St, Abita Springs). A Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am with Words of Remembrance to follow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 10 205 at St. Jane de Chantel Catholic Church with burial to follow at St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery.
