Obituary for Michael Joseph Parr
Michael Joseph Parr passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022 in Covington, LA. He was born on November 10, 1944 in Bossier City, LA at Barksdale Air Force Base to the late Myron Joseph Parr and Jeanette Dufour Parr.

Mike was married to the love of his life, the late Eileen Sykes Parr. He leaves behind two sons, Matthew Parr and Mark Parr (Marjorie Fertitta). Mike was the proud grandfather of Layton, Chase, and Maria. He was the brother of Karen Parr Moise, Denise Parr Cox, and the late Lisa Parr. The family wants to acknowledge Michael's dear friends Connie and Craig Boudreaux.

Mike served in the Air Force from 1966 to 1987. He was a pilot in the Vietnam War. In his years of service, he retired at the rank of Major. He later served as Chief of Safety for Lockheed Martin and Treasure Chest Casino. As a devout Catholic, Mike was a fourth-degree knight in Council 15133 at St. Anselm catholic Church in Madisonville, LA.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 306 St. Mary St., Madisonville, LA 70447 on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 9:30 AM until Mass time. Interment will follow the service at St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery, St. Benedict, LA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Michael J Fox Parkinson’s foundation at michaeljfox.org.
