Rose Mary Nelson Williams passed away peacefully on December 14, 2019 in Covington, LA at the age of 83. She is survived by her loving husband Harry S. Williams of 63 years, and known to her beloved family as "Saint Rose". The youngest of 9 children, she was born to Cornelius & Alma Meyers Nelson in the Irish Channel of New Orleans. Rose loved & adored her family. She instilled unconditional love in all of us and truly lived life to the fullest. We were blessed with so many valuable lessons that will be passed down for generations to come. After being a devoted wife and mother, she worked as a Legal & Executive Secretary for many years. As a devout Catholic, she was a parishioner of St. John the Cross and more recently, St. Anselm Church. She served as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered many hours at the Church office. Rose is survived by her 3 daughters, Melissa Williams Bascle, Linda Williams Nicosia (Gary) and Carolyn Williams Mayley (Don). 7 Grandchildren, Mark Bascle, Jr. (Denise), Brad Bascle, Brooke Bascle Waters (Grant), Lindsey Nicosia Staiger, Courtney Nicosia, Kaitlin Mayley & Sarah Rose Mayley and her Great-grandchildren, Bryce, Blake & Bella Rose Bascle, Henry & Ella Grace Waters, Madison Rose Staiger, Blake & Riley McCarthy & Jordan Reno. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Nelson Hogan, and former Son-in-law Mark Bascle, Sr. (Kellie). Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at St. Anselm Catholic Church 306 St. Mary Street Madisonville, Louisiana 70447 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10:00 a.m. Inurnment at the St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the New Orleans Lympho-Maniac Cancer Fund by clicking the link to their website: http://www.lympho-maniac.com .
