Manuel Edmond Cabiro, Jr., loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away in Katy, Texas on November 25, 2019, at the age of 77. Edmond was preceded in death by his parents Manuel Edmond Cabiro, Sr. and his mother, Mildred Posey Cabiro. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pamela Ann Carter Cabiro, his four children, Craig Patrick Cabiro and wife Dorothy, Aimee Elizabeth Cabiro Harrington and husband Thomas, Elizabeth Anne Cabiro Cunningham and husband Craig, and Paul Andrew Cabiro. He is also survived by his grandchildren Ashley Marcelle Harrington, Thomas Jordan Harrington, Carter Patrick Cabiro, Andrew James Cabiro, Aubree Blake Cabiro, Jon Michael DeLuna, and Samantha Rae DeLuna; his brother, Richard Joseph Cabiro and wife Jane, and cousin Sidney William Bailey and wife Joan. He was also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Edmond was born and raised in New Orleans, LA, attended Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary, De La Salle High School, and graduated in 1975 from the University of New Orleans with a degree in Accounting. Upon graduation he went to work for Texaco Corporation and remained with them until his retirement in 1999. During that time, he and his family lived in New Orleans, Houston, Denver and finally settled in the Houston area.
Edmond was known for his quick wit, endless jokes, infectious smile and his kind and compassionate spirit. He had a passion for painting, loved to fish, and was dedicated to his work with the Knights of Columbus, especially working on projects and fund raisers for the church. It was his love and devotion to his family and faith that were of utmost importance to him. He lived to serve his family, love the Lord and be true to his Catholic faith. He was a gentleman in every sense of the word and his selfless love was respected by all.
Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral in Houston, Wednesday, December 4, 2019. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am, followed by the funeral mass at 11 am. Funeral will be held at St. Edith Stein Church, 3311 N. Fry Road, Katy, TX 77449.
We will hold memorial service in Mandeville, LA on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 312 Lafitte Street, Mandeville, LA 70448. Visitation will begin at 12:30 P.M, with a memorial mass at 1 pm. Internment will take place afterward at Saint Joseph Abbey Cemetery, 75376 River Road, St. Benedict, LA 70457.
