Obituary for Mary Agnes Gallagher Fuselier
Mary Agnes Gallagher Fuselier, surrounded by family, passed through death to everlasting life on Friday, September 16, 2022. She was born on January 10, 1932 to Fred Francis Gallagher and Ellen Ritter Gallagher and was raised in Flour Bluff, Texas. She married her beloved husband, Robert Howe Fuselier, Jr. on October 9, 1954 in a double ceremony with her sister, Jody.
Mary’s life reflected and pointed to Christ’s perfect love. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith in God, sacrificial life, and unconditional love. Mary truly lived pure love; love towards God, family, life-long friends and brief acquaintances. What a remarkable gift!
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Robert Howe Fuselier, Jr.; her precious grandson, Jean Michael Fuselier; her parents Fred and Ellen Gallagher; and her siblings, George Gallagher, Elizabeth Gallagher Clark, Bernard Gallagher, Josephine Gallagher Russell, and Catherine Gallagher Adams and precious niece, Ann-marie Fuselier.
Mary is survived by her six children: Annette Fuselier Dorko (George), Robert Howe Fuselier III (Susan), Marie Fuselier Cahal (Jimmy), Marie Cecile Fuselier, Denise Fuselier Stansbury (John), and Alyce Fuselier Cazayoux (Ross); by her sixteen grandchildren: Robert King, Louis King (Monique), Jennifer Richmond (Jacob), Robert Fuselier IV, Michael Cahal (Mia), Monica Oppermann (Chris), Ross Martin (Mary-Kate), Patrick Stansbury, Anna Stansbury, Abigail Stansbury, Jack Stansbury, Mary Claire Cazayoux, Claudia Miller (Gage), Adam Cazayoux and Aimée Cazayoux; twelve great grandchildren: Raina, Olivia, Liam, Haylie, Deaglan, Killian, Fiadh, Ariella, Devereaux, Amélie, Easton and Adalie; brother-in-law Richard A. Fuselier (Patty); and nieces and nephews: DeAnna, David, Greg, Candace, Stacy, Lisa, George, Chele, Patrick, Louis, Henri, Elizabeth and Chris.
Visitation will be held at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, on Friday evening, September 30, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 PM. Funeral Mass and Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Abbey, 75376 River Road, Saint Benedict, LA, on Saturday, October 1, 2022, the Feast Day of St. Thérèse of Lisieux, at 2:00 PM. A Rosary and Words of Remembrance will begin at 1:15 PM on Saturday, October 1, 2022.
