Obituary for Alicia Loredo Monge
Alicia Loredo Monge entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at her home in Mandeville, LA. She was born on January 30, 1928 in Managua, Nicaragua to the late Benedicto Loredo and Aurora Isabel Callejas Loredo.

Alica was the loving mother of Alicia Nolan (Lewis), Humberto “Tito” Monge (Eileen), and Marta I. Monge. She was the proud grandmother of Andrew Nolan, Meredith Nolan Landry (Rob), Jackson Monge, Clayton Monge, and Emerson Monge. Alicia was the sister of Tina Erickson, Helen Medina, Josefina Dreher, the late Anita Vaughan, Benedicto Loredo, and Esperanza Solorzano.

A master seamstress by profession, she held a strong passion for empowering women through PEO International’s Mandeville Chapter (Chapter BF). When the occasion permitted, Alicia could always be found leading a line dance. She was also a long-time resident of the Rouquette Lodge in Mandeville.

In her final days, alongside her family, Alicia was supported by the incredible staff from St. Tammany Hospice. Special acknowledgements to Nurse Kelli, Tamara, her social worker, and her amazing sitters, Anita and Myletta. Many thanks to them for the care, comfort and compassion they brought Alicia.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Lake, 312 Girod St., Mandeville, LA 70448 on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 12:30 PM. Interment will take place privately at St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery, St. Benedict, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Samaritan Center Food Bank, 402 Girod St., Mandeville, LA 70448, (985) 626-4457, www.samcen.org.
