John Paul graduated from Saint Stanislaus High School in Bay St. Louis, MS and graduated from Nicholls State University with a Bachelors Degree.

John Paul was a naturalist. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and enjoyed the outdoors. In 2009, he hiked and completed the Appalachian Trail, spanning twenty-two hundred miles from Georgia to Maine, and in year 2016 he also completed the Pacific Crest Trail spanning twenty-seven hundred miles from the Mexican to the Canadian border. He loved classical literature, music, and art and frequently visited the New Orleans Museum of Art. He was very musically gifted and enjoyed playing his guitar.

John Paul was a gentle, funny, spiritual person with a competitive spirit. He was a loving and devoted father to his daughter, who was the joy of his life. He loved spending time with family, especially the Christmas Holidays. John Paul spent many good times and made many memories at the fishing camp with his dad and brothers.

John Paul had a way of showing love that was uniquely his own, and his presence and humor left a lasting impression on those who knew him. He was competitive and strong-willed at times. He knew what he believed in, stood firm in his opinions, and was never one to back down from a challenge. Those who knew him best understood that beneath it all was a heart that cared deeply.

He will be remembered for the man he was, loved for the place he held in our hearts, and missed more than words can express.
