Obituary

Kimberly (Kim) Anne Koko Glorioso Theodossiou, aged 62, continued on her lifelong journey to the Lord on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, following the end of her battle with cancer. In her final days she was at home continuously surrounded by love and her family. She was born at Ellsworth Air Force Base, SD, on March 23, 1961, but lived the majority of her adult life in the New Orleans area. Growing up she lived in Japan and around the United States with her military family, until they took up residence in Florida. After graduating from Dixie Hollins High School in 1979, she attended the University of West Florida, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1983. She then moved to New Orleans, where she would remain, to attend Loyola Law School and received her Juris Doctorate in 1987. Following this she found her love for teaching, legal research, and being a friend to all as a faculty members at Tulane Law School, where she worked for three decades. In addition to her extensive legal knowledge, Kim always kept her love of traveling that she picked up from her childhood. She kept her spark of adventure by taking trips across the globe with the most important people to her, family. Whether it was her work trips to Greece, or just a leisurely trip to a faraway destination, she always made sure that her family was going with her. While traveling was her joy, she also took solace in caring for animals. Even during her trips abroad, she would make sure that any homeless animal she found got a meal that day. As she prepared to embark upon her final journey, Kim drew upon her faith, love of her family, and appreciation for the memories she made surrounded by those she loved. Kim is survived by her husband, Chris Theodossiou M.D.; her son, Daryl C. Glorioso and daughter-in-law, Klaudia; her parents, Elizabeth (Betty) and Donald Koko; her brothers, John and Donald J. Koko; her nieces and nephews, Meredith, Jordan, Haley, and Jacob Koko; her sisters-in-law, Elizabeth and Elin Koko; former sister-in-law, Amy Koko; former husband, Daryl G. Glorioso; and a host of friends and colleagues who shared many experiences and memorable times with Kim during her rich and full life. Kim will be forever loved and remembered by all her loved ones. Funeral arrangements will be private. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please donate to either the Louisiana SPCA or to a cancer charity of your choice in Kimberly’s memory.
