Memorial Services for Mary Jo Otillio , age 78 and Owen R. Otillio, Sr., age 70, both of Waveland, MS, were held Sunday, February 17, 2013, at 11:00 am at the home of the Algero family, 701 Sixth Street, Waveland, MS 39576. Arrangements are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home. Reverand Father Martin Otillio, OP officiated the service. A native of Alexandria, LA, Mary Jo was a homemaker and a member of St. Clare Catholic Church. Mary Jo never met a stranger and she worried about everyone except herself. "Mini Jo " was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt who loved everyone. She will be truly missed by all. Mini Jo was a special aunt to all of her nieces and nephews. She was like a mother to them, and was always there when they needed to talk. A native of New Orleans, LA, Owen was a public accountant and notary public. He was a member of St. Clare Catholic Church and Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. He served in the LA Air National Guard, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, and a former member of the IAMC. He graduated from St. Aloysius High School, New Orleans, LA, class of 1959, where he was a member of the football team. Owen loved LSU and the Saints football. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Tarver and Willie Florence Woods Tarver; and her brothers, Buck Tarver, Billy Tarver, Malcolm Tarver; her sister, Montie Marino; and her first husband, Carlo Alfred DeAscentis. Owen was preceded in death by his parents, Paul F. Otillio, Sr. and Helena Theresa Kuhn Otillio; his sister, Helena Theresa Otillio; and his brother, Paul F. Otillio, Jr.; his first wife, Patricia Lindsey Otillio. Survivors include their children, Owen "Ray" Otillio Jr and wife Diane, Julie Timmons, and Joey DeAscentis; 5 grandchildren, Mikey, Joey, Jojo, Alan, and Shawn; and 2 great grandchildren, Skyler and Madison. Owen is also survived by his sisters, Mercy Sister Patricia Otillio, and Audrey Algero and husband Joseph; and several nieces and nephews.
