Jeanne K. Johnson, of Abita Springs, Louisiana, passed away on March 29, 2025, from Alzheimer’s disease, at the age of 83. Born on September 2, 1941, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Jeanne's life was a testament to her unwavering spirit and the love she cultivated around her.
Jeanne was the beloved daughter of the late Edward T. Krieger and Inez H. Krieger. She spent her childhood in the vibrant city of New Orleans, where she developed a lifelong passion for reading and her faith. Jeanne's journey led her to a blessed union with her late husband, Paul C. Johnson, with whom she shared 52 years of devoted marriage. Together, they built a family that became her pride and joy.
She is survived by her loving children, Kim J. Duvieilh (John) and Jill J. Slipher (Frank). Jeanne's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Lauren L. Allen, Katie D. White, and Justin P. Duvieilh, as well as her five great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her teachings and affection. She is the sister of JoAnn Schilling and Janet Pagart, and was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Krieger Jr.
Jeanne's professional life was marked by her meticulous nature and dedication. She served as a bookkeeper for several establishments, including Graduate Supply House, Krieger Tire & Supply Company, and Café Fresca.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Jeanne was a devout Catholic who found solace and strength in her faith. After her retirement, she was a faithful participant at Eucharistic Adoration while residing in Slidell, Louisiana. Her faith was a cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life's challenges and joys.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Audubon Funeral Home in Slidell. A Funeral Mass will begin in the chapel at 10:00 a.m. Jeanne will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery at a private burial. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer Mass enrollments.
