Obituary

Sarah “Sugar” Mayeaux Rittler passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023. She was 90. She was born on July 4, 1933 in New Orleans, LA to the late Davis J. Mayeaux and the late Josephine Stassi Mayeaux.
Sarah is survived by her four sons, Fred L. Rittler, Jr. (Joy), Kenneth G. Rittler (Cathie), Michael J. Rittler (Rosary), and Thomas J. Rittler (Beth); five grandchildren Melissa (Ron), Shelley (Jason), Kenneth, Jr. (Alli), Sarah (Jacob), and Dustin (Brandy); ten great-grandchildren Jason, Jr., Evelyn, James, Elijah, Lillian, Rex, Leah, Grace, Josh and Juliette. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Fred L. Rittler and her brother, Davis J. Mayeaux, Jr.
Sarah was a native of New Orleans, LA and a North Shore resident since 1993. She retired from Whitney Bank.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at St Peter Catholic Church,125 E. 19th Avenue, Covington, LA at 12:00 PM and the visitation will begin at 10:00 AM from the church until mass time.
Interment will follow the mass in St Joseph Abbey Cemetery in St Benedict, LA. In lieu of flowers, masses are preferred or donations in memory of Sarah to St Joseph Abbey pennies for Bread. www.saintjosephabbey.com/how-to-donate/.
