Lloyd Mayer Obituary
MAYER Lloyd George Mayer passed away from cardiac arrest on the evening of January 14, 2008 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in New Orleans, LA on January 3, 1941. He was an alumnus of Saint Joseph Seminary, Class of 1961, and held an MA in English from the University of New Orleans. He is survived by his two siblings, Dr. Gerald T. Mayer (Deborah), his older brother, and Frederick M. Mayer (Mavis), his younger brother, his stepmother, Sophie Laurent Mayer, and stepbrother, Roger Plunkett (Margaret). He was the uncle of John and Lydia Mayer, and Kevin and Erick Mayer and numerous grandnephews and -nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Geraldine Chaise LeBlanc and Thomas Xavier Fredrick Mayer. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Philip Neri Church, 6500 Kawanee Ave., Metairie, LA. Family, friends, former classmates and members of the community of Saint Joseph Abbey are invited to attend the Mass.
