Betty Ann Lucas Wallbillich of Abita Springs, LA passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in November of 1934 in New Orleans, LA to the late Elihu Root Lucas and Katherine Clavin Lucas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas John Wallbillich, Jr. and her brother, Elihu Root Lucas, Jr.
Betty is survived by her children Kim Wallbillich Daigle (Lloyd), Thomas J. Wallbillich, III (Christina), Bruce J. Wallbillich (Elizabeth); and her grandchildren Trey Daigle, Nicholas Wallbillich, Betsy Wallbillich, and James Wallbillich. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Lori Ruello (Dennis), Christoper Ruello, Stephen Lucas, Elihu Lucas, III, Kirk Wallbillich (the late Cherryl), Elizabeth Wallbillich, Melanie W. Graves (James), and Ryan Graves.
Betty was born and raised in New Orleans and graduated from St Joseph’s Academy in 1952. She later went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Loyola University in 1955 and she was a member of the BAE sorority.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at St. Joseph Abbey, 75376 River Rd, Saint Benedict, LA 70457 and the visitation will begin at 1:00 PM until Mass time. Interment will follow the Mass in St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery, Saint Benedict, LA.
