Nancy Mohlke Hudson, age 73, ¬of Bush, Louisiana passed away Saturday morning, March 20, 2021, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. She was born on May 3, 1947 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to Leonard Lester Mohlke and Virginia Rose McNevins Mohlke. She is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years Charles Edward Hudson, her loving children Rev. Chase Mohlke Hudson, his wife Tiffany Chesteen Hudson, Helen Rebecca Hudson, Virginia Eve Anello and her husband Joseph Michael Anello, and her 4 precious grandchildren Summer Sky Hudson, Noelle Elizabeth Hudson, Chaselynn Isabella Hudson, and Sofia Claire Anello. She is also survived by her sister Marcia Rose Lanois. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents Leonard Lester Mohlke and Virginia Rose Mohlke. Mrs. Hudson graduated from Mount Mary University, and was a talented, well respected educator in St. Tammany Parish for over 30 years until she retired in 2006. Nancy taught Remedial Reading at Abita Springs Junior High School and then 5th and 6th grade at Abita Springs Middle School. She cherished each one of her students and pushed them to excel in their education. She was truly a caring, kind person who gave so much to the families of St. Tammany Parish. Nancy is known as the teacher who went above and beyond for her students. Many of her former students continued to keep in touch with Nancy following their departure from Abita Springs Middle School and her retirement. Nancy was also a devoted parishioner at St. Benedicts Parish Catholic Church for over 30 years. She sang in the church choir, was actively devoted to the Rosary and volunteered her time to assist in educating children in the religious education program. Nancy was a kind and caring person, who gave so much to her family, her friends, her students and the community. She will be deeply missed by all that knew Nancy. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass at St. Benedict's Parish Church, 20370 Smith Road, Covington, Louisiana 70435 on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 12:00 PM with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. A private inurnment for Nancy will take place at a later time at St. Joseph's Abbey Cemetery. With COVID-19, restrictions social distancing and face mask are required to attend services. As an alternative to flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Nancy Mohlke Hudson may be made to "Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation – Keeping Music Alive in Our Schools."
