Obituary

Jennifer Carol Bunce Maurice of Covington passed into the loving comfort of her savior, Jesus Christ, on Dec 1, 2022. Jennifer was born on May 25, 1961 in Buffalo, New York to David and Grace Bunce. She moved with her parents and siblings at the age of 6 to River Ridge, Louisiana. A precocious girl who never shied away from a challenge, her inevitable calling would be to help others. After studying at the University of New Orleans, she became a talented and highly respected local nurse and also worked in California for several years. Even in retirement, the nurse never left her, as was evident when she provided courageous leadership and compassion in the care of her dying mother, something the rest of the family will always remember. No doubt, however, she would claim as her greatest achievement her two sons and three grandchildren, and the solace they provided as her own health gradually failed. In her final years, she experienced the peace of a profound faith.

She is survived by her sons, John (Cassie) Maurice, Brian (Christy) Maurice, three cherished grandchildren Peyton, Leah, and Thomas Maurice; her brothers Christopher (Dolores) Bunce and Eric Bunce, her sister Carla (Clyde) Ponthieux, her former husband Bruce Maurice, and her dear aunt Jane Bunce of Philadelphia.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at Grace Funeral Home, 450 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, LA 70433 on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 12:00 PM with visitation on Thursday beginning at 10:00 AM.

Burial will follow the services in St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery, 75376 River Rd., Saint Benedict, LA under the direction of Grace Funeral Home.
